We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done.
"We will not hide them from their children." It's a strange thing to have to say out loud — of course you'd tell your kids what mattered to you. Except this verse assumes the opposite is easier: staying quiet, letting the next generation figure things out on their own, not risking the awkwardness of actually saying what you believe.
What's being handed down here isn't a set of rules. It's a story — specific things God is described as having done, told plainly enough that someone who wasn't there could still know about it. That's a very different thing than inherited religion. It's more like handing someone evidence and letting them decide what to do with it.
Maybe nobody ever told you this story straight, without an agenda attached. This verse is, in a sense, an invitation to hear it now, on your own terms, and see what you make of it.
