The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad; the desert shall rejoice and blossom like the crocus;
"The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad" is not a line for people whose lives are already tidy. It's a line for people standing in a stretch of dry ground, wondering if anything is ever going to grow there again. Isaiah doesn't write around the desert or pretend it isn't real. He puts the promise directly inside it: the desert itself is what rejoices, the desert itself is what blossoms.
That matters because most comfort language quietly assumes your circumstances need to improve first before joy is even possible. This verse reverses that. The gladness isn't scheduled for after the desert — it's described as happening to the desert, in the desert, as the desert.
You don't need to have your life figured out to be found by a promise like this. If dry ground is where you actually are right now, this verse was written with exactly that ground in mind.
If dry ground is where you actually are right now, it's worth asking what it would mean for that ground itself to bloom.
