Buried in one of the driest genealogy sections in the Bible is a small explanation for a military victory: they cried out in battle, and were helped, because they trusted. Not because of strategy, numbers, or superior weapons — the text bothers to state the reason plainly.
It's a strange thing to interrupt a list of names to say. Whoever compiled these chapters could have just recorded the outcome. Instead they paused to name the cause, as if it mattered that readers understood why, not just what.
